STORY
Discovering a cheetah in the shimmering, light grass of the Maasai Mara is like finding a needle in a haystack. We often get tips from the guides who communicate with each other by radio. In this case, we found the animal by chance. The cheetah’s coat reflects the rays of the sun and makes the animal one with nature. The cheetah moves gracefully through the Mara. After several kilometres, he sits on a small mound. A herd of elephants looks over, some distance away. The hazy, dark bodies of the giants in the background create a contrast with the shadows in the foreground. The cheetah stays enthroned on his mound, like the protector of his domain.
